2007-2019

Vala danced in several works by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, including Origine, Puz/zle, and BABEL (words) — which was co-created with Damien Jalet. These productions, involving extensive ensembles of dancers, musicians, and other performers, toured internationally for many years to wide acclaim across Europe, Asia, and beyond as part of Cherkaoui’s company, Eastman. Vala also appeared in the opera Das Rheingold, which premiered at La Scala Opera House in Milan and was later staged at the Berlin State Opera. In addition, she performed in Joe Wright’s film adaptation of Anna Karenina, appearing in ensemble choreography created for the screen.
